I really like RetroSupply.co brushes (for Procreate). When I purchased a pack a few months ago, I got a code for a year of access to their Secret Society forum and bonus downloads (the vault). It’s usually $12 a month. Maaan, I am stunned that they are charging for this. It’s a ghost town forum and the ‘vault’ downloads are just a bunch of samplers. For such a great company, they should have pulled the plug on this failed experiment a long time ago. The only useful thing is the 30% off, but thats not worth the membership fee, even if i bought a lot of brushes.

Why do so few apps designed for writing have Typewriter scrolling as an option? I love Typewriter scrolling and it seems to be vanishing slowly. Oh well, someone will reinvent it at some point and call it something stupid like static entry point interfacing or something.

Last Solar Opposite 🎨 - I drew these last night. I really enjoy how they all have simple forms which are recognisable. I tried to add my own dirty shading and textured line art to them all while being as faithful as possible to the original designs. I put them on my favourite paper textures and used a traditional font for the text to promote a classical feel I washed the colours out a tiny but to make them look at home on the paper without popping like modern cartoons. not sure how well I pulled anything off but I enjoyed drawing them

I really wanted to enjoy these movies but the casting feels, well, just bizarre. And the whole Romeo and Juliet clause conversation came off as just weird and more than a little creepy. also there’s a robot with a cigar, a metal cigar… its silly in ways I don’t enjoy.

I havnt seen this movie since about 2004 and I have to say, my gosh! its silly fun. I really enjoyed it. Theres a moment when Vin Diesel delivered the line “I love my life quarter of a mile at a time” I had to pause the movie to giggle, and, I think its very likely that Vin Diesel had to so the same after delivering it. That line is is close to Tim Curry’s “Spaaaaaaaaace” from C&C

After ‘finishing the new full-cast version of the audiobook,’ I decided it may be time to watch the movie (for the first time.) I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by it. While there is a lot missing from the book (obviously,) they managed to keep the core of it, and even made the ending less frustrating. I actually quite enjoyed it.

I can’t believe that i didn’t watch this years ago. What a fantastic movie! It has stunning visuals, a fantastic plot, and an important message about loyalty and duty. All while being fun from start to finish. Wow! There were some plot holes and odd dialogue but, the effects and setting made up for it.

Was self aware and a little silly in all the right ways. I really enjoyed all the characters, though the ending felt like a bit of a cluster bomb, and, was the weakest part of it. That said, I really did enjoy it all. I doubt it will be as well remembered as the original. I should read the book.

I’m currently trying the week-long trial of the Ulysses writing app because I need a writing environment which works on all my devices. It has everything I want, but I detest subscriptions. Still, it works on iPad, iPhone and Mac and Without synching issues and the grammar tooling is nice.

As someone who used to create YouTube videos, I feel compelled to say that when you watch reviews from content creators, they’re almost always just telling you what they want from a product. The iPad doesn’t need macOS; a phone or laptop is fine if it works, regardless of CPU or RAM.

I’ve transitioned both Dandelion-utilitarian.com and hexdsl.com to the Dandelion-utilitarian.net platform, powered by Micro.blog. This may sound a bit complex, but simply put, I’m a huge fan of Micro.blog and believe it’s the ideal platform for consolidating my content. While those of you who enjoyed the WordPress site might have mixed feelings about this change, I think it’s a better fit given my reduced focus on videos and other online activities. Micro.blog just feels like the right choice for where I’m headed.

I Had an excellent evening of writing. It’s been about a week since I have managed to gather the focus required but I am starting to feel more like myself and generally returning to my usual Zen-like state. I will likely feel more equipped to return to usual activities in a few days.

Also, drafted a blog about health, moods, and personal goals. I’ll proofread it tomorrow and post it. If I think its worthwhile once I go through it again

The rise of ai tools is going to seriously effect profit’s for services like grammar and language tool soon. As of yet though, there is no good language tool alternative for my phone. It’s going to be interesting to see how it unfolds, because, LLMs are far more effective spell checkers than anything else I have used. I just wish we didn’t have all the other baggage that went with them.

I’m considering replacing GoodLinks with DEVONthink. Since I already use DT, my initial reason for using GoodLinks to save articles was to avoid cluttering my notes. Now that I understand DT better, I realise I can separate the databases and adopt a more holistic approach to managing my PKMS

If people were to ask, I would say that I didn’t use social media, despite all the things I post to dandelion-utilitarian.com ending up on micro.blog, bluesky and the wider fedi.
