iPad themed YouTube videos are all stupid.
I agree, strongly, that YouTube videos about anything Apple related are tiresome trash. And, I watch a lot of them because you have to wade through many, many, piles of rubbish to find the occasional useful app or website what you would otherwise miss. But, dear reader, I am going to stop, cold turkey when it comes to watching any video about iPads.
There is a theme in these videos which comes around about once every two months (or so) where YouTube creators think they have transcended reality and have the hubris to make videos with titles such as, “You have been using your iPad wrong,” or the infuriating, “Finally, this is what the iPad is for!”
And, you click on the videos and these arse hats have the absolute audacity to have a ten-minute monologue over an iPad on a desk or in a damned field where they talk about it being a useless device. Then the megalomaniacs announce that all you have to do is throw away your magic keyboard, and all of a sudden, the device makes sense!
Horse radish! Poppycock! These are the same goits who companied endlessly to have ‘proper’ multitasking on the iPad to make it more laptop-like when The Muppets don’t even actually use the darn thing!
I use my iPad. I have a magic keyboard, I also have an art-board stand for it, I use my iPad every day. Sometimes I draw (badly) sometimes I animate (badly) and sometimes I use my Magic Keyboard and write (pretty well) on it. Overall, I think I could be happy with only an iPad. But I do have a MacBook and I use that if I need a laptop. Because I have it, and it’s the right tool for the job.
Apple listened to these morons, and that’s why we have the underwhelming iPadOS 26. Where you can have multi-window, pointlessly. As someone who actually uses their iPad as an iPad most of the time, I can tell you, I turned off windowed apps. And if I do for any reason require windowing when I’m using it with a magic keyboard I use stage-manager, which we had before iPadOS 26, and it was fine, still is.
YouTubers need to stop thinking they know better than users about a device they only pull out once a quarter. And, only when they run out of ideas for videos and pretend they know something that we, the actual iPad users, have never figured out.
Anyone who cannot find a use for an iPad shouldn’t have purchased one. I never look for a purpose for my iPad because I purchased it for a purpose. The Magic Keyboard is a nice bonus to the best drawing and note-taking device I have ever owned. ☺️
Stop listening to YouTube hipsters about things they don’t know about, just because they have nice cameras and apparently no dust in their houses, it does not mean they know anything.
